The DFN Snowdon Master’s Scholarships

In 2026, in addition to the usual Snowdon Master’s Scholarship which supports your leadership in any sphere, we will also be offering targeted DFN Snowdon Master’s Scholarships to support individuals pursuing careers in business leadership, government or policy with intent to close the Disability Employment Gap.

DFN Snowdon Scholars are expected to take part in a week-long summer leadership school, hosted by the University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education centre. Working together we aim to amplify the impact we can create for future disabled leaders.

“With our focus on addressing the disability employment gap, and on supporting those with disabilities to thrive, we are delighted to partner with the Snowdon Trust to double the number of Scholarships available this year. Our aim is to accelerate the careers of talented disabled young people so they can succeed across business, policy and government and can play a key role in ensuring the employment rate for disabled people matches that of those without disabilities’.

David Forbes-Nixon

Founder and Chair of the DFN Foundation

“Since 2017, we’ve funded master’s programmes for more than 70 scholars who demonstrate disability leadership in all its forms. We’re so proud of the impact the Snowdon Master’s Scholarship programme has created so far and this partnership with the DFN Foundation represents a really exciting opportunity to extend the programme’s reach with a clear focus on reducing the disability employment gap.”

About the DFN Foundation

The DFN Foundation is a philanthropic grant making charity that supports four key areas – disability education, disability employment, myeloma cancer research and conservation. These areas relate to the knowledge and experiences of our founder and his family; and a Board and small team with relevant expertise complements our focus areas.

Our approach to creating positive change is underpinned by three things: issues we understand, a clear need and working where we believe our funding, skills and resources can add value. We partner with others where we can, and if we see a gap then we will initiate and grow a new organisation; as we have already done with the outstanding Undershaw Education Trust and the independent national charity DFN Project Search.

Our close partnerships inform our work every day, building our knowledge and our learning. We aim to create a virtuous circle where we build, test, refine and scale effective work and create positive change alongside talented experts.
