Application FAQ's
What evidence do I need to provide?
If you are invited to complete stage 3, you will be required to upload some evidence. Please have this ready upon completing stage 2 – you will have around 2 weeks between the invitation and deadline for stage 3. You will need to provide the following:
- Study place: evidence that you have applied for your course. If you are awarded a scholarship, your award will not be processed until you receive a confirmed offer.
- Disability: a copy of something that shows your name and that you are disabled. This can be:
- A letter from a doctor or other relevant medical letter
- A letter from an official source eg. Disabled Students Allowance, Education Health and Care plan or other state benefits
- An official documentation such as a disabled ID card, Blue Badge, or disabled persons bus pass
- Proof of your fee status: if you are have UK home fee status, you can show this through your offer letter. If you are an international student, you must upload a graduation certificate or transcript to demonstrate that you studied your undergraduate in the UK.
What do we mean by 'exceptional'?
This is a highly competitive award so when we talk about exceptional, we are searching for applications from individuals who have something special to offer. We are searching for remarkable individuals who have the capability and qualities to become an outstanding leader, role model or pioneer in their area of expertise and beyond. Individuals with the ability to create change and influence others. This could include excellence within a chosen field of study, or the ability to demonstrate leadership more widely through the workplace, extracurricular activities and leading by example.
Try to emphasise these qualities and skills within your application. If you are worrying about whether you are exceptional enough, remember, that’s something good leaders do a lot of!
What do you mean by 'excellence within a field of study'?
We are searching for people that are truly passionate about their chosen subject, and are high achievers in their field. Excellence could be measured by results, performances, exhibitions, or any other subject related experience. Projects, extracurricular and workplace experience all count towards subject related experience.
