The Grants programme is not expected to open for new applications for the academic year September 2025-September 2026.

This year, we will award more grants than usual due to the availability of new funding which supports grants for specific types of adjustmentBut because we have seen such an increase in grant requests over the last few years, we also have a backlog of applicants we have been unable to support in previous grant rounds and so we have prioritised existing applicants for this year’s funding. These applicants have already been notified. It means we will not be accepting new grant applications.

If you were planning to apply for a grant this year, this will be disappointing news. We are only too aware that for many applicants, this grant programme is a last resort to acquire the reasonable adjustments you need to fully participate in your university course. We’re sorry we can’t help you this year.

But we’re working furiously behind the scenes to generate more funding for grants, expanding the capacity of the programme, and you can help influence the success of that work.

Can you spare a few minutes to tell us what you wanted to apply to us for, and why you couldn’t get the support anywhere else?

Click here to complete a short survey. We’re keen to know if:

  • The support or adjustments you need are not routinely provided by any other institution or funding stream
  • You’ve been awarded Disabled Students Allowance but you don’t feel it meets your needs, or it is taking too long to get an assessment
  • Your university has agreed reasonable adjustments, but these have not been put in place effectively
